Dublin Bat Removal Offers Field-Tested Bat Control Methods That Get Any Bat Job Done

While bats are an indispensable element of the ecology, they can be challenging to deal with if they roost in your buildings. Bats love doing their upside-down thing in comfortable, temperature-controlled, dark, and high places. Therefore your building’s attics and chimneys attract them when there are no other options available outside your home or business due to human encroachment

When bats turn your home or business into their bat-house, they generally cause a great deal of damage if allowed to remain. Bats can get into your walls and especially your attic space, leaving urine-soaked and guano(poop) filled insulation that will emanate a terrible odor and potentially carry bat mites and spread diseases through fungus-filled poop.

You may think hiring a bat exterminator or removing the bats yourself is a straightforward solution, but you will run into serious problems. In Ohio, it’s illegal to kill bats given their shrinking numbers, and indisputably bats play an essential role in our environment. Plus, how would you remove bats yourself even if you could locate them all? With a butterfly net?

Regardless, even if you could remove the bats yourself, you are not addressing the reason bats are in your building in the first place. Bat exclusion is the best, most humane, and enduring solution, which permanently removes bats from your building and protects your buildings against future bat infiltrations.

Take the sensible step if you think you have a bat issue in your Dublin, Ohio home or business, and call our courteous staff at (844) 544-9453 and set up a building inspection.

Our Dublin Bat Removal Service Crew Know The Signs Of A Bat Infestation, Do You?

Are you smelling weird odors coming from your walls or attic? Or, has your dog or cat brought in a dead bat into your home? Have you been seeing black droppings around your windows or porch? And most important, have you been observing bats flying around your property, especially your roof? If you answered yes to most of these questions, you probably have a bat infestation problem with your Dublin property.

Addressing a bat problem sooner rather than later is the difference between paying out a few hundred dollars for our Dublin professional bat removal or spending thousands of dollars on a bat removal that may come with a complete attic restoration.

Of course, we would like to address a bat problem any time of the year, but at times that’s not possible. During certain times of the year in Ohio, it’s unlawful to remove bats. The removal of more than 15 bats from a building from May 16th through July 31st requires written authorization. This law is put in place to protect mother bats and their nursing pups that can’t fly since bats are so valuable to Ohio’s ecosystem. Only if human health and safety are at risk will authorization be given. So, it makes complete sense if you are starting to see bats hanging around your home or commercial property that you call our Dublin bat control experts at (844) 544-9453 to access the situation before you face any state restrictions on bat removal.

The ideal way to protect your home against a bat infestation is having a complete inspection of the exterior from top to bottom to locate all possible bat access areas. Our trained and highly experienced Dublin bat removal experts know every nook and cranny where bats generally find an access point. And it takes a well-trained eye since bats can enter gaps as small as 18mm, around the size of a dime.

If you think your Dublin property may have a bat issue, please, don’t waste any time. Please call our exceptional bat experienced staff at (844) 544-9453, so we can arrange an inspection within the next few days, and maybe even today, if possible. Rest assured, we will accurately assess your bat problem if you have one.

“Are Bats Good To Have Around My House?” No! You May Need Bat Removal So Here’s How We Do It.

Step 1: We Examine Your Structure Out And In Then Construct A Bat Exclusion Agenda

Our Dublin bat control team gets called in by many building owners who see bats flying around their buildings, especially if they “land” on the higher parts of the structures. In the latter case, you want one of our bat experts to do a full inspection, meaning outside the building from top to bottom, and inside your property, where we will examine the attic area and the internal walls. If we locate bats inside your building, our bat removal team will identify any possible damage and all the entry points and weaknesses outside the building. But why don’t we give you a step-by-step blow of the bat exclusion process our Dublin Bat Removal crew performs.
  • Once we get into your building, our bat experts locate all the roosting bats, if any, how many bats you have, the kinds of bats, most likely little or big brown bats, and if a female bat is nursing babies.
  • Our crew examines any bat damage that exists to do the proper repairs. This damage comes in the form of bats guano and urine-soaked materials that need removal.
  • Next, we guarantee we can locate every bat entry opening and any other possible weaknesses on the outside of your building.
  • Our Dublin bat specialists get together and design a plan that enables them to remove all the bats humanely.
  • Next, one of our Dublin bat experts will get together with you, plainly explain what we found, display some photos, describe the troubles and the cost estimates, give a time frame for project completion, make modifications to the plan if necessary, and then both of us will sign our contract.

Our experienced and well-trained building inspectors guarantee they can locate every bat entry point and do proper repair and sealing.

Step 2:  We Remove Bats Harmeleesly With Effective And Efficient Top-Notch Tools

Our Dublin bat removal crew does not remove bats one by one, nor do they use any capture nets which will harm the bats. We complete a bat removal using a one-way door called a Bat Valve, which comes in one of three models. Bats can exit through the Bat Valve but can’t reenter through it.

Our crew intentionally leaves open a few bat entry points once they repair and seal all the others. We firmly attach the Bat Valve over the unseal bat exits. Any spaces between the outside wall and the Bat Valve get sealed by our bat technician since a gap as small as a dime can allow bats back in.

Usually, bats tend to feed at night when they leave the building through the Bat Valve, but when they attempt to reenter, they are “bat out of luck.” Since not every bat goes out every evening, the Bat Valves must remain in place for several days, though generally no more than 5 to 7 days, but sometimes less. We will monitor the Bat Valves and also ask you to do so.

Once we can see no more bats exiting, we’ll enter the building and check to see if any bats remain. Once we 100% know there are no more bats, we remove the Bat Valves then repair and seal the remaining gaps.

Our Dublin Bat Removal expert is installing the Bat Valve SG3 used for Soffit Returns, Gable Vents, and more.

We repair and seal all bat entry points but one or two. On the remaining unsealed gaps, we install the unique One-Way Bat Valve, in the above case, the TBV-SG3, that allows bats access to exiting but they can’t return through the Bat Valve.

Our Dublin Bat Removal expert installed the Bat Valve TBV-FR4 used for Ridge Vents And Frieze Board Gaps.

Bat Valve model TBV-FR4, sold and created by the Viking Product Supply team, was designed for fixing on Ridge Vents And Frieze Board Gaps.

Our Dublin Bat Removal pro installed the Bat Valve TBV-FLEX2 used for Corner Gaps And Are Versatile And Flexible.

A Dublin bat tech used this Bat Valve TBV FLEX 2 for a corner gap due to its elasticity and adaptability. We have effectively used this over bathroom discharge vents when doing bird exclusions.

Step 3: The Essential Bat Damage Cleanup Of Guano, Contaminated Materials And Making Necessary Repairs

You may think that once our bat removal crew has removed all the bats, you can go in and clean up the mess and contaminated materials, BUT PLEASE DON’T DO IT! When bat guano dries and breaks apart in dust, it can spread a hazardous lung disease called Histoplasmosis. A bat-contaminated cleanup is best left to our Dublin bat cleanup crew, who have all exposed areas of their skin covered thoroughly, and wear thick gloves, goggles, and a HEPA surgical mask, so their eyes and airways are protected. So let’s clarify the steps:

  1. Dried bat guano can contain a fungus that can spread a lung disease called Histoplasmosis. Dried crumbled bat guano moves through a region as floating dust which can move into living areas.
  2. Also, bats can carry bugs called “bat mites” which can flourish and increase in numbers while living on bats. These tiny vampire bugs feed on human and pet blood and can spread throughout your building.
  3. Bats damage their living quarters when their urine and feces soak built up on flooring or sheetrock or soak into the flooring or any gaps, which can lead to staining of ceilings or walls in your living or working space.
  4. In addition, the urine and feces of bats contaminate attic insulation which will lose its R-Value and increase your energy costs.
  5. The urine and feces of bats will pollute air since the odor of their urine and feces permeates everything it touches.

Once our Dublin bat removal team concludes the removal process and seals all bat access points, we exterminate any bat mites if they exist, get rid of and replace ruined sheetrock, tainted insulation, and all bat poop, and do any necessary repairs.

In some bat exclusions, we must conduct an entire attic rehabilitation, which means:

  1. We remove all soiled insulation and contaminated materials by hand or by our HEPA vacuum system.
  2. All floors, walls, and ceilings must be washed and decontaminated.
  3. Every surface gets an application of our organically based deodorizer that permanently removes all odors and leaves a clean scent throughout and healthy air to breathe.
  4. Now you know we’re done when we lay down a soft deep layer of blown-in insulation with an R-Factor you get to choose, saving on your monthly utility bills.
Our Dublin Bat Removal Experts faced this mess insulation solied by bat guano.
This insulation was removed and replaced since bat urine soaked into the insulation with a heavy peppering of bat guano.

Dublin, Ohio Bat F.A.Q.’S

Did you know that  Ohio bats are most active from March into September? Or, did you know that Ohio is home to 11 species of bats, not just the Little Brown and Big Brown bats? Let’s answer a few of our more frequently asked questions for the good people of Dublin.

How many bats could be in my building?

This may be a bit disturbing but we’ve seen up to 300 bats in a building during one of our jobs.

How do female bats have babies?
Since bats are mammals, female bats have babies like all mammals, except they never have more than one pup(baby bat) at a time, and they nurse their babies as all females do.
How do bats sleep?
Bats are well known for sleeping upside down which allows them to huddle close together for protection against the cold.
I heard most Ohio bat infestations are Little Brown Bats or Big Brown Bats. How do I tell the difference?

We have an excellent explanation at our site here.
